Some of the most influential voices in the sector explored the impact of AI, upskilling and reskilling, and the challenges of digital learning<\/strong> in the corporate world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day was packed with success stories, panel discussions featuring international speakers, and key announcements<\/strong>\u2014including the strategic collaboration<\/strong> between Netex Learning and GoodHabitz<\/strong>, which will enable the Galician company to offer even more dynamic and accessible learning experiences<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI and Learning Relevance: The Industry\u2019s Biggest Challenge<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The event kicked off with Donald Taylor, Chair of the Learning Technologies Conference<\/strong>, presenting the findings of the Global Sentiment Survey 2025<\/strong>\u2014an annual study capturing insights from over 3,000 L&D professionals across 100 countries<\/strong> on the future of workplace learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taylor highlighted that AI remains the number one challenge<\/strong> in the sector, but with a significant shift from the previous year: \u201cThis year, professionals have been more precise. It shows that we now have a clearer understanding of AI.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also stressed the importance of relevance and impact in learning<\/strong> within organisations: \u201cIf you can now generate in an hour what used to take you ten, how are you going to use that extra time? The key is to create real value.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Panel Discussion: Innovation in L&D for Global Projects<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the most highly anticipated sessions of the event was the panel discussion<\/strong> on \u201cDriving Innovation and Collaboration in L&D for Global Projects\u201d<\/em>, moderated by Ravi Purswani, Managing Director of Netex Learning Cloud<\/strong>. The session featured Sally Jeffery, Global Education & Skills Leader at PwC Middle East<\/strong>, and George Magson, Head of L&D at Amazon Logistics<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeffery explained how PwC prioritises critical skills development<\/strong> within its workforce: \u201cAt PwC, L&D is the reason we exist as a company. We have a network of \u2018learning champions\u2019 to ensure our training remains effective and relevant.\u201d<\/em> She also emphasised the importance of customer experience in training programmes<\/strong>: \u201cOur consultants must understand what the client needs to solve. The key is ensuring that learning delivers real value.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magson shared insights into how Amazon delivers training in multicultural environments<\/strong>: \u201cWe work across highly diverse regions in the US and Europe. The challenge is balancing language and technology so that every region receives training tailored to their specific needs.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also stressed the importance of technical excellence in a rapidly evolving sector<\/strong>: \u201cWe need to understand how new technologies work in our fulfilment centres. The industry is changing fast, and we must maintain a high level of leadership and expertise.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both speakers agreed that adaptability and impact measurement are essential<\/strong> in any global training strategy. \u201cIf you can\u2019t demonstrate the value of learning with concrete data, you\u2019re wasting your time,\u201d<\/em> concluded Jeffery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second panel discussion of the day, \u201cThe Evolution of Upskilling in the Age of AI\u201d<\/strong>, tackled one of the biggest concerns for L&D leaders<\/strong>: how to ensure that workforces remain future-ready<\/strong>. Moderated by Ram\u00f3n Sanjurjo, CEO of POZIK Consulting<\/strong>, the session featured Mar\u00eda Soler, L&D Lead for EMEA at Roche<\/strong>, and Alfonso Caballero, Learning & Capabilities Lead at AstraZeneca<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“By 2030, 78,000 new jobs will be created, and employees will need to upgrade their skills. What will be the most critical competency for integrating AI without disruption?”<\/em> Sanjurjo asked. The discussion underscored the importance of data literacy<\/strong> and the ability of organisations to analyse and interpret information effectively<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“AI will generate an enormous amount of data that we need to understand. Making data-driven decisions will be crucial for the future of work,”<\/em> noted Caballero. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soler acknowledged the challenge of adapting to this new era<\/strong>: “We\u2019re not fully prepared yet, and we will need a lot of technology. The key will be defining business strategies that enable AI integration effectively.”<\/em> She also highlighted Roche\u2019s digital transformation efforts<\/strong>: “We are leaders in this space because we have embedded AI into our vision and have a solid strategy with effective implementation.”<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabanas explained how the digital transformation of the MEGA Academy<\/strong> has enhanced internal training and strengthened the company\u2019s culture<\/strong>: \u201cOne day, we realised that 50% of our employees had been with us for less than two years. Jos\u00e9 Manuel Matilla, Head of Drawings & Prints<\/strong>, detailed how this initiative has enabled the global accessibility<\/strong> of a culturally significant collection that cannot be permanently displayed due to conservation needs<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
