<\/p>\nWe recently ran a session at the eLearning Network event (#beyondclicknext) in London. During our session we looked at our new Smart Content solution, which utilises learning analytics to transform the use of digital content in the classroom for both teachers and students alike. By decoupling the content from the LMS and giving teacher real time information and projected outcomes, we can promote the concept that \u201cContent is King\u201d and give teachers the tools to really embrace digital content as a game changer, rather than just an online version of a book.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But this is within Education, and whilst the uses and benefits of smart content within the K-12 or Higher Education classrooms are relatively clear, the uses within a corporate training scenario are a little less apparent. There is of course no doubt that within the corporate world, classroom training is still a huge player but how we can take this mainstay of training and move it to the next level?<\/p>\n
A quick straw-poll during the session we ran showed that 80% of attendees<\/strong> (mainly L&D professionals) were running classroom events<\/strong> and of these 30% have an active BYOD policy<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
But does this mean they are encouraging students to access digital content in the classrooms, or are we still living in a world where paper copies of the instructors powerpoint slides rule? Internally we are looking to add audio and video features to Smart Content, to allow us to really utilise the content within a virtual training environment. Plus new point of need authoring capabilities which allow you to hide or add to the content depending on the audience.<\/p>\n
