AI, corporate learning innovation, and the future of workplace training were at the heart of discussions at We Love Learning Summit 2025, Spain’s leading L&D event. Hosted by Netex Learning on 14 February in Madrid, the 12th edition of the summit brought together over 250 professionals from top companies, selling out completely. Some of the most influential voices in the sector explored the impact of AI, upskilling and reskilling, and the challenges of digital learning in the corporate world.

The day was packed with success stories, panel discussions featuring international speakers, and key announcements—including the strategic collaboration between Netex Learning and GoodHabitz, which will enable the Galician company to offer even more dynamic and accessible learning experiences

AI and Learning Relevance: The Industry’s Biggest Challenge

The event kicked off with Donald Taylor, Chair of the Learning Technologies Conference, presenting the findings of the Global Sentiment Survey 2025—an annual study capturing insights from over 3,000 L&D professionals across 100 countries on the future of workplace learning.

Taylor highlighted that AI remains the number one challenge in the sector, but with a significant shift from the previous year: “This year, professionals have been more precise. It shows that we now have a clearer understanding of AI.”

He also stressed the importance of relevance and impact in learning within organisations: “If you can now generate in an hour what used to take you ten, how are you going to use that extra time? The key is to create real value.”

Panel Discussion: Innovation in L&D for Global Projects

One of the most highly anticipated sessions of the event was the panel discussion on “Driving Innovation and Collaboration in L&D for Global Projects”, moderated by Ravi Purswani, Managing Director of Netex Learning Cloud. The session featured Sally Jeffery, Global Education & Skills Leader at PwC Middle East, and George Magson, Head of L&D at Amazon Logistics

Jeffery explained how PwC prioritises critical skills development within its workforce: “At PwC, L&D is the reason we exist as a company. We have a network of ‘learning champions’ to ensure our training remains effective and relevant.” She also emphasised the importance of customer experience in training programmes: “Our consultants must understand what the client needs to solve. The key is ensuring that learning delivers real value.”

Magson shared insights into how Amazon delivers training in multicultural environments: “We work across highly diverse regions in the US and Europe. The challenge is balancing language and technology so that every region receives training tailored to their specific needs.”

He also stressed the importance of technical excellence in a rapidly evolving sector: “We need to understand how new technologies work in our fulfilment centres. The industry is changing fast, and we must maintain a high level of leadership and expertise.”

Both speakers agreed that adaptability and impact measurement are essential in any global training strategy. “If you can’t demonstrate the value of learning with concrete data, you’re wasting your time,” concluded Jeffery.

Panel Discussion: The Evolution of Upskilling in the Age of AI

The second panel discussion of the day, “The Evolution of Upskilling in the Age of AI”, tackled one of the biggest concerns for L&D leaders: how to ensure that workforces remain future-ready. Moderated by Ramón Sanjurjo, CEO of POZIK Consulting, the session featured María Soler, L&D Lead for EMEA at Roche, and Alfonso Caballero, Learning & Capabilities Lead at AstraZeneca

“By 2030, 78,000 new jobs will be created, and employees will need to upgrade their skills. What will be the most critical competency for integrating AI without disruption?” Sanjurjo asked. The discussion underscored the importance of data literacy and the ability of organisations to analyse and interpret information effectively

“AI will generate an enormous amount of data that we need to understand. Making data-driven decisions will be crucial for the future of work,” noted Caballero.

Soler acknowledged the challenge of adapting to this new era: “We’re not fully prepared yet, and we will need a lot of technology. The key will be defining business strategies that enable AI integration effectively.” She also highlighted Roche’s digital transformation efforts: “We are leaders in this space because we have embedded AI into our vision and have a solid strategy with effective implementation.”

Celebrating L&D Success Stories

One of the most anticipated moments of We Love Learning Summit was the recognition of outstanding training projects that have transformed their industries. Hosted by event presenter Bisila Bokoko, the awards were presented to:

🏆 SHARE – Galician Health Service (SERGAS) for its patient care improvement programme
🏆 Telefónica for its training initiative for sales channels
🏆 London Metropolitan Police & Premier Partnership for their training programme enhancing police response and victim support in London

Attendees also gained insights into Estrella Galicia’s learning success story, presented by José Cabanas, Chief Marketing Officer at Hijos de Rivera

Cabanas explained how the digital transformation of the MEGA Academy has enhanced internal training and strengthened the company’s culture: “One day, we realised that 50% of our employees had been with us for less than two years. That brings challenges, and we need to ensure that every new hire understands our essence.”

Museo del Prado Captivates the Audience with Its Digital Learning Initiative

One of the most applauded presentations of the day was delivered by the Museo del Prado, showcasing its pioneering digital strategy for making its collection of drawings and prints more accessible to the public.

José Manuel Matilla, Head of Drawings & Prints, detailed how this initiative has enabled the global accessibility of a culturally significant collection that cannot be permanently displayed due to conservation needs

“Thanks to digitalisation, we are breaking barriers and making a crucial part of our heritage accessible to a worldwide audience,” said Matilla.

Closing a Day of Inspiration

The final keynote at We Love Learning Summit was delivered by Barbara Amann, Senior HR Advisor, who debunked common myths about corporate training and offered a clear perspective on designing impactful learning strategies that benefit both business performance and employees

“Great leaders don’t wait for things to happen. They drive change. Adaptive leadership is key,” stated Amann, emphasising the critical role of leadership in organisational transformation

Before closing the event, host Bisila Bokoko invited attendees to reflect on the true power of learning, featuring a special message from Ousman Umar, founder of NASCO Feeding Minds, alongside an exclusive preview of the upcoming documentary on his life story and the impact of NASCO worldwide

With this inspiring conclusion, We Love Learning Summit wrapped up its 12th edition, solidifying its position as Spain’s leading corporate learning event
