Teachers: We’ve made it easy! Change whatever you want from the book.

We’ve finally done it, a book where we can add content, change it, eliminate it, both in real time and delayed. The authoring tool is within the book.

It seems obvious, but it is not.

The editorial content is often static, the publisher provides either a book or an authoring tool, but not both at once.

We talk about personalised learning adapted to the class group or the students but how can we do this at point of need?

The teacher is reluctant to handle an authoring tool, which presents a blank page and a large number (excess) of buttons. They want content, with an instructional approach and resources that they can share with the class, but also want to add content generated from scratch, found on the Internet or shared by other authors with the same interests. This is the basis of our authoring proposal.

The content is not static:

  • The teacher can shape it depending on their interests, also shaping recommendations based on the students’ level of knowledge or their needs.
  • The teacher can add activities, open or self-assessed, scorable and assigned to different skill levels.
  • The teacher can share content in the right context so that other teachers can take advantage of, and in turn, consume the content of third parties.
  • Reusing students’ activity is another great way to enrich textbooks or activities.

A small percentage of teachers create content from scratch, but not all of them use authoring tools. However, a high percentage want to change the editorial content, enriching and adapting it to specific needs. They do not want an expensive learning process to manage the tool, or a complex publication process, or one that requires an endless number of steps.

The content is modified in the desired context and supported by the teacher and the educational institution: a group of students, the current class, all classes or the whole school.

Once again, thanks to data analysis techniques, we can see the characteristics of the content, the activity of teachers with the proposed resources, the appropriateness of the proposed resources, recommendations of internal and external content, as well as the level of satisfaction and motivation of students and teachers.

The proposal raised at the teacher is: “Do it from your book”, change it, add and delete pages, include content and decide who will see those changes.

Publishers, don’t need to be afraid.

We are developing tools that teachers need, and if you don’t offer these, they will look for other tools somewhere else. So take the opportunity to offer a living book that includes many benefits:

  • Proposes content and resources that the teacher can include together with their own content to generate new activities.
  • Obtains information about what content is relevant and has been created by teachers to improve the publishing proposal.
  • Prevents the teacher to use third-party authoring tools, to avoid using the book.
  • Builds a learning community where users feed the book, so that the book is a living and updated content.

Learns business information and trends on content used by teachers, new book proposals and a wide range of opportunities arising from the activity of teachers within the book.
